Why Use a Dynamic Custom Column for Average Daily Spend?
The Average Daily Spend (Dynamic) custom column is simple to create and highly valuable for quick analysis. It automatically recalculates based on your chosen reporting date range, giving you a real-time view of your spend trends.
For instance:
If you set the date range to the Last 7 Days, the column will display the average spend during that period.
Change the range to the Last 3 Days, and it will adjust to show the average spend over those three days.
This flexibility makes it an essential tool for any Google Ads manager looking to optimize budget allocation and performance.
How to Create the Custom Column
Navigate to Columns Settings:
Go to the Campaigns view in your Google Ads account.
Click on "Columns" > "Modify Columns."
Add a Custom Column:
Scroll to the bottom and click on "Custom columns."
Click the blue "+ Custom column" button to create a new custom column.
Name and Format Your Column:
Name the column something intuitive like "Average Daily Spend (Dynamic)."
Set the Data format to "Money ($)."
Input the Formula:
In the main input area, type "Cost" (without quotes).
Then, use the "/" symbol to divide.
Finally, type "report_days_count()" and select it from the dropdown.
Your final formula should look like this:
